This month’s featured artist at Studio 17 is the talented Briana Barber. Ms. Barber was recently ‘discovered’ by Studio 17 proprietor, Dana Gage, who sees her work as “stanchly sentimental, through parched gray and brown hues”. Her photographs of deserted Cheyenne alleys, lonesome flowers and angry skies are a unique view seldom realized by the conventional passer-by. “Ms. Barber’s work contains dry, chalky, ghostly effects that evoke tremendous feeling and always warrant a lingering gaze.”
Studio 17 will also feature the work of owner Dana Gage. Dana is a local Cheyenne photographer whose landscapes and scenic portraits capture the essence of the Wyoming backdrop. Mr. Gage has won three first place awards this past year in area photography contests. His use of color and composition are unique to area photographers. His prints induce strong sentiment and appeal to a broad range of art enthusiasts.
