“Most of my work is watercolor-many sizes and many shapes. The transparency allows the building of layered color and texture. I use geometric patterns to create movement and mystery. Plowed earth, crops in various stages of growth, layered mountains, forests, trees, images around Wyoming…..these are my inspiration. The painting surfaces I use are paper, prepared panels and canvas. I recently started a new process using watercolor…batik on rice paper. I’m crazy about the texture and surprises that await me at the final unveiling. How fun!! Born and raised in Wyoming, I received a BA from the University of Wyoming. Participating in art brings me great joy: painting plein air, talking to new people, receiving grand ideas and insight”. Marvie Tipsword
