“I started working in ceramics in 2004 while in high school and continued my education at LCCC. Through time, I have developed an acceptance of the unpredictable tendencies of clay and kiln. Each piece is a combination of skill, guess work and chance. The results can be unexpected and inspiring.

My current work is heavily influence by Mid-Century Modern design and I try to honor the look and feel of that time. With this new direction, I feel like the potential has exploded. I can do almost anything (furniture, kitchens, brick, and clerestory windows!) and the possibilities are endless and consuming. I have a lot of fun imagining the houses I would live in given all the money and resources in the world.” Carol McDonald’s work can be seen at the Phoenix Bookstore.
